Students who do not take a break | Agree or Disagree Essay

Some people think that students who do not take a break in their studies between high school and university are at a disadvantage compared to students who travel and work after high school before further continuing their education. Do you agree or disagree?

Solution

Some individuals believe that learners who do not take a vacation between high school and university are at a disadvantage as compared to those who travel and work before continuing their education. I completely agree with the statement because taking breaks allows them to get experience and financial help.

Firstly, at school and university, students learn theories. Of course, the theory is necessary; however, employers expect practical experience. Although in the third or fourth year at university, pupils can be apprentices in some companies to help them approach their future jobs, they are not trained well because of the short time spent working. Furthermore, the real task is still very strange to them. After graduating without experience, these students cannot accomplish their work correctly. On the other hand, it takes them time and money to keep up with other experienced students, and they may be scorned. Therefore, students not taking breaks would contribute less than other students with the two most important things: skills and experience.

Moreover, students who work between high school and university can build a much more solid financial foundation than those who do not. Obviously, not every student has fortunate to get scholarships or support from their families. In these cases, working and saving money becomes a viable solution to the problem. Also, the working experience can be a valuable experience for their future career. For example, my friends used to work as news paperboys to save money for tuition fees. After graduating from university, he became a reporter because of his previous experience.

In conclusion, students should travel or work before going to university. That way, not only will they have basic knowledge and skills to get a good job, but it would also make their studies stress-free from financial burdens.

3 Tips to Write an “Agree or Disagree Essay”

When writing an agree or disagree essay pay attention to following tips:

Analyse the question prompt carefully

Unless you read the question carefully, you cannot address the main requirement. Don’t just pay attention to keywords. It is not a listening exam. Read the sentences in their entirety to understand what they mean.

Clearly state whether you agree or disagree

If the question clearly requires you to agree or disagree, then you should also clearly mention the same. Do not mix or take a balanced idea. You will be confusing the examiner by taking a mixed-up idea.

Write a clear thesis statement

Write a clear and strong thesis statement. Write the body paragraphs in the same order of points in which the thesis statement is written. For example, if your thesis statement mentions advantages and disadvantages, it is logical to write the first body paragraph on advantages rather than disadvantages.
