In the past, most people used to travel to their place of work. With increased use of computers, the internet and smart phones, more and more people are starting to work from home.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of this development?
Work from home is becoming more common as the modern world advances. It is made even easier by technologies such as the internet and smart devices, which connect all workers from all over the world via a virtual platform.
People used to travel to work, but today it is more convenient because it cuts down on travel time. Rather than travelling in a dirty atmosphere, we may use that time to conduct constructive work. Furthermore, working all day at an office exhausts you because you are constantly monitored by superiors and are unable to deceive. On the other hand, working from home is more flexible because you are not under any time constraints. For example, in the past, my father was always rushing to get to work on time. He was fatigued and used to be late for work since he missed his transport. However, he now wakes up at his preferred time and arrives at work on time. He takes a mandatory break before returning to work. He can now spend more time with his family and is no longer under work pressure. As a result, working from home is a more convenient substitute for a hard effort.
On the other hand, travelling to work and going out is a social activity. However, if you work from home, these activities will be eliminated from your schedule. Loneliness and depression result from a lack of social engagement. You will meet individuals digitally, but it will not be as effective as communicating in person. Excessive freedom also makes a person unruly and careless. You can sleep in late and work while eating your breakfast. If you don’t want to work, you can manufacture any excuse. As a result, working from home makes your life less structured and more relaxed.
To sum up, working from home has both positive and negative aspects. However, I believe that working online has a significant advantage because it is more convenient. You can change your habit and learn to be more disciplined over time.
