Some people predict that all vehicles will be automated within the next several decades. As a result, divers will no longer be important and the vehicles will solely contain passengers. I believe that this phenomenon of fully autonomous cars will have more advantages than disadvantages.

On the one hand, the fact that driverless cars are difficult to understand is one of their obvious drawbacks. In other words, a lot of people are afraid of technology. They, therefore, find it challenging to comprehend and operate automated vehicles. Additionally, they will result in hefty costs. As an example, because these driverless cars will be built with cutting-edge technology, their maintenance costs might be higher than those of cars that need a driver.

However, the main benefit of automated vehicles is that they will lower the likelihood of car crashes and accidents. Human drivers can get fatigued while driving for long hours which is one of the causes of road accidents. Since there will be no human drivers there will be no risk of human error while driving, resulting in a safe travel experience. Additionally, people who are unable to drive can travel alone with driverless and autonomous vehicles. Said, elderly people with any health issues can safely travel alone. In conclusion, autonomous cars have a ton of advantages such as safe and secure travel and, the opportunity to spend time with friends or family during the travel. These benefits are negligible in front of certain drawbacks such as the high cost of fully automated vehicles.
