Elderly people feel that their time was the best time to live. How far do you agree or disagree?
Some people from the older generation believe that they have lived their lives at the best possible time and manner. However, in my opinion, I do not agree with this statement.
First of all, what is a good time to survive or spend life is subjective. What is good for one person may not be equally good for another person. Older people have indeed lived their lives when pollution was not an issue and they used to eat healthy diets. The inflation rate used to be lower. Everyone is blessed with enough natural resources. However, they used to lack infrastructure facilities, especially medical services. People used to waste a substantial amount of time travelling, even over small distances.
Another point worth noting is that modern life is too comfortable. Thanks to science and technology, almost all activities are being automated. The medical industry has grown a lot, and a number of lives are saved due to diseases as compared to an older time. Hence, it is wrong to compare the older time’s life with modern-day life.
In conclusion, living the best life is a personal opinion of some people only, it cannot be generalised. Modern life is way too comfortable, and people have more time to pursue their hobbies and spend their time with their near and dear ones.
