Planning is an integral component of human life. Consequently, some think focusing on the now is more important than planning for the future. I completely disagree with this statement since both the present and future are crucial.
Primarily, I believe that planning for the future is not a waste of time since it influences the present. To demonstrate, to accomplish a long-term objective, some measures must be taken in the present. For instance, high school students cannot study overseas without completing examinations such as the IELTS. Therefore, students are expected to plan for their studies abroad well in advance. Consequently, aimless individuals may lag behind their goal-oriented peers.
Moreover, objectives motivate some individuals to live their lives and continue attempting and improving. Some employees are motivated to work effectively by, for instance, the possibility of future advancement. Some employees may not see sense in working without the possibility of advancement. Lack of goals and ambitions can contribute to mental health difficulties such as sadness and anxiety in certain individuals. Therefore, planning for the future gives life meaning. Thus, focusing solely on the present without considering the future may demotivate certain individuals.
In conclusion, focusing on the present is vital, I would say that long-term planning is equally crucial since future objectives not only need hard effort in the present but also serve as a driving force for certain individuals to continue moving forward.
More and more people are using computers and electronic devices to access information; therefore, there is no need to print books, magazines and newspapers on paper. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Computers and technological devices are becoming a requirement in many homes worldwide. There are still people who rely on print media, books, and periodicals for a variety of reasons, even though the number of people utilising these gadgets is soaring. And I disagree that the rising use of technological devices should eliminate print media.
In recent years, there has been an increase in the use of electronic devices, yet a significant portion of the population either lacks access to these devices or lacks digital literacy. Several developing or undeveloped nations still rely on printed books, periodicals, and newspapers as their primary sources of knowledge. According to a poll done by the World Bank, internet penetration in the world is just 56%, leaving more than 40% of the population without access. Hence, it will not impact the demands and preferences of a large section of society.
Additionally, most senior citizens prefer printed media to electronic media because the latter causes eye strain, which can lead to various complications. In addition, a substantial number of individuals are accustomed to reading newspapers and books, and changing their patterns will require much time and effort. The audience population is dwindling, and many print media companies are gasping for air, but they have not been entirely supplanted.
In conclusion, print media is not yet ready to replace digital media, as it is still chosen by many for a number of reasons. I believe it should not go until there is a market for printed newspapers, magazines, and books.
